Trey Greenwood’s obsession with severe weather sparked at age three after watching a documentary on the 1999 Moore, Oklahoma F5, and it quickly grew into a lifelong pursuit—complete with mock TV forecasts, Bill Paxton costumes, and nonstop supercell study. From cutting his teeth in Arizona monsoons to chasing violent Plains tornadoes and operating the RaXPol mobile radar alongside a tornado science legend, Trey has turned childhood awe into a full-blown career in meteorology.

Cameron Nixon’s storm-chasing journey ignited with the historic Rochelle, Illinois EF4 in 2015—a life-shaking encounter that sparked a relentless drive to understand how storms truly work. Now a Ph.D. research scientist collaborating with the National Weather Service and Storm Prediction Center, he pushes the limits of severe weather prediction by day and roams the Plains by passion, chasing nature’s most powerful (and beautiful) displays.

Kyle Gillett is a Master’s-level atmospheric scientist and decade-long storm chaser who blends cutting-edge severe storm research with real-world forecasting, photography, and broadcast meteorology experience. From developing SounderPy and contributing to MetPy to simulating supercell interactions and co-creating the Storm Chase Archive, Kyle is pushing the science of storm dynamics forward—both in the lab and under the sky.

Hunter Fowkes is a devoted husband and father who has chased nearly 200 tornadoes since 2009, turning a life-changing first Iowa tornado into a full-fledged career in meteorology. An Iowa State graduate, award-winning storm photographer, and professional meteorologist at WeatherGuidance, he blends research, real-world forecasting, and a passion for education to help others chase smarter, safer, and with deeper respect for the science behind the storm.
